Consistent communication with OPC UA and Sercos
In the course of the fourth industrial revolution, IT and production technologies merge with the goal of an intelligent, self-organizing factory. Information and communication technologies are particularly important in this context. A promising approach is the combination of OPC UA and Sercos.
This allows a transparent and continuous access to process and production-relevant information in a cross-vendor semantics across network boundaries, without having to forego fast, safe and deterministic machine communication.
The webinar explains how the profiles and services defined by Sercos are mapped to OPC UA. The process and device data defined by Sercos are thus made available in a uniform and cross-manufacturer-specific manner not only locally via the Sercos real-time bus, but also via any superordinate network infrastructure using OPC UA. This not only simplifies the data exchange between machine peripherals and higher-level IT systems. The requirements of industry 4.0 regarding semantic interoperability are also supported.
