2012 Annual Meeting of the sercos User Group

The 40th general meeting of the sercos user group (sercos international e.V.) at the 2012 Hanover Trade Fair elected a new executive board for the next term. Over the next three years, Dr. Bernd-Josef Schäfer (Bosch Rexroth AG), Klaus Weyer (Schneider Electric Automation GmbH), Ralf Prechtel (LTi DRiVES GmbH), and Prof. Alexander Verl (Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart) will form the executive board. Klaus Weyer will succeed the departed member Fred Cohn (Schneider Electric).

During the meeting, the present members were comprehensively informed of the technological development of sercos based on current market trends and also took a look at the strategic orientation of the sercos user group. “Strong growth in the spectrum of manufacturers and providers accelerates the implementation of innovative automation concepts and is, at the same time, proof of the high level of acceptance of sercos in machine and systems engineering,” explains Peter Lutz, Managing Director of sercos international. “Our plan to establish a regional user group in Asia is also in line with the very strong interest in high-performance, cross-manufacturer bus technology in Asia and specifically in China.”
