Review Automation Summit 2012

The basics for using Ethernet in mechanical engineering were explained in the user seminar. Example applications from various industries showed the possibilities and advantages of the sercos uniform, real-time Ethernet protocol and were discussed further. The one-day event was rounded off by a comparison of the real-time Ethernet solutions relevant for mechanical and systems engineering. The developer seminar was oriented towards developers and product managers that wanted to find out more detailed information on how sercos works. The sercos communication protocol, various function profiles, and implementation of a sercos III interface were discussed during this workshop.
