Real-time communication with Ethernet TSN and Sercos
For the first time in the more than 40-year history of Ethernet, Ethernet TSN allows timed and deterministic transmission of real-time critical messages over standard hardware. Thus, the application spectrum of Standard Ethernet is extended to real-time applications, e.g., in automotive or industrial plants, and a new era in industrial communication has been initiated. Ethernet TSN is based on a time-slot method, which Sercos has been using for more than 25 years for real-time communication in industrial applications.
The webinar explains the importance of Ethernet TSN for the evolution of industrial communications, including the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0. It also demonstrates how Sercos and Ethernet TSN can be meaningfully combined to deliver both real-time and standard Ethernet communications over a single network standard.
