Behind the scenes of Sercos International

Sercos III technology is open, non-proprietary, and freely available. The independent Sercos user group has been using this approach since 1990. In addition to representing the interests of its members, the user group provides an efficient and open forum for experts, supporters and interested parties who make active contributions.

The oldest international user group for real-time communication pools the expertise of more than 90 member organizations around the world, and it has subsidiaries in North America and Asia.

Offices have been set up in Germany, the USA, Japan, and China. 15-20 companies are constantly represented by appropriate specialists in the working groups of the Sercos organization. To coordinate the different activities, the Sercos steering committee (SSC), consisting of all working group leaders, meets regularly.

Sercos N.A. History

Sercos North America was established in 1994 as a Not-for-Profit Illinois corporation to facilitate and promote the use of the Sercos automation bus between controls, digital drives and I/O. Its purpose is to function as a central coordinator and database for members and activities in North America, while expanding the understanding of the international Sercos standard and applications.

Members of the association are manufacturers and users of controls, drives and other automation components, educational institutes and other organizations with an interest in Sercos.
