Oversampling and time stamping
The oversampling process which is integrated into Sercos protocol allows more than one nominal/ actual value per cycle to be transmitted. This increases the delicate nature of the process control in extremely critical laser applications, for example, because more data can be consolidated and transmitted.
Time stamping also opens up new opportunities for communication across the fixed cycle. This function transmits event-controlled results such as specific measured data and switches outputs independent from the cycle. This increases the stability of the process in complex processing solutions, like those in the semiconductor industry.
